Utah or Bust....

Cota was set up in the back seat of the truck. We were worried she would be going crazy the entire time but luckily she slept a majority of the time and chewed on some bones.

Derek gave us a panic look when I told him he would be sitting in his car seat for several hours... He was certainly happy when we pulled in to Vegas for the night.
On the way down we were sure to make enough stops to make a pregnant lady, a toddler and a puppy happy. We didn't realize when we stopped in Fillmore for a break that we would end up sitting in traffic for an hour! It was sure nice once we started moving again.
Friday afternoon we had plans to be at the Reece's for BBQ. Everyone was there and enjoyed some yummy food. It was nice to see all the little nieces and nephews that were there, it's too bad that we had missed Rachel and her family by just a couple weeks.
Friday was so crazy busy! We went out to Draper to visit some old co-workers of mine. Everyone was so excited to see how much little Derek had grown, along with my belly! Thanks to everyone at Safe & Sound for the candy you gave Derek and the present from Taylor & wifey for Deron.
We were able to spend Friday evening doing some fireworks with the Robison's. It was a busy day, and relaxing and playing outside was perfect before hitting the pillow.
Derek had fun with the fireworks, but the one's that screamed made him a little un-easy. He would take cover with whoever was closest.
Derek took it upon himself to find his own comfy chair to watch morning cartoons in... only thing was it wasn't a chair! It was Bailey... She was a good sport about it and hey, it was a break from having Cota wrestling with her.
Saturday Dinner With Friends
These are the guys that Bryson has kept in touch with over the years, and we had so much fun getting together with everyone and their wives. We were missing one little family (Millers) because they recently have moved. But it was a great night full of laughs.
Thanks again to Ben & Meela for the cute baby present for Deron! :D
After our big dinner Saturday night we actually had an hour that we had open, so we took a drive up to the Bountiful Temple. What wonderful memories were there and thinking back to how that's where Bryson & I began our lives together it was special to be able to take Derek there and have a picture with him.
Happy Birthday Grandpa Reece!
Derek & I were able to go to Grandma Reece's ward Sunday. How fun it was to see how much everyone has grown up and changed. Derek did awesome in nursery and I was able to catch up with all the old ward members.

For Grandpa Reece's Birthday Derek picked out a Diamond Backs hat for Grandpa. Man did he like it, and it looked great!

Derek had fun with his little cousins Joey & Dallin. Derek sure loved to play catch whenever Grandma Reece was around, and was very happy to see her and give loves.

It was great to be able to spend Grandpa's Birthday with him. We also were able to get some fun pictures of Joel & Linda's little family before they move out to Tennessee this Friday. We wish them the best as they start off in a new city. We love you guys!

Grandma Reece was sweet enough to send us back with a couple of blankets she made for Deron and cute little outfits. Thanks again Mommy I love them! ( I will do a post of Deron's room with the new stuff)

Monday before we left we were able to have an early lunch and meet up with Aunt Cathy. It was so nice being able to visit with everyone and have a nice full tummy before drive home.
By the time it was time to go Derek was not wanting to be in his car seat any longer. We couldn't believe how well both he and Cota did on the drive to and from Utah. On the way home Cota slept, and Derek kept himself entertained watching movies, and looking at the moon out the window. Considering we drove all the way back in one day, they sure were troopers. We pulled in to our drive way a little after 11:00.
We had such a great time in Utah and are grateful for the time we had to visit with friends and family. Although at times it seemed like chaos we were happy to see everyone and enjoy the time with friends and family.
We'll be visiting Utah perhaps in another year, and by then... we'll have baby Deron here with us!
