Our New Life....Two Weeks Later.....

Well we have made it through our first couple weeks at home. It has been something else that's for sure, but it has been so great. Bryson has helped out so much and little Derek just can't get enough of his baby brother. It was hard not being able to have all of the family around to enjoy the new baby, but that is expected when you live out of state. We were able to have my mom fly down for a weekend to stay with us and we loved it! (Thanks again Narlene! :D)Grandma Reece was so sweet to make sure baby Deron had everything he needed, and it was very much appreciated!! I was so happy that I got to have my mom here with me, and we're looking forward to when the rest of the family can come down.

Derek loves it when he gets to help out with holding the baby, or any time he is able to give him "loves". There are moments where Derek isn't for sharing the attention, but before long he is back in big brother mode and loves to help out. He is doing surprisingly well with the adjustment of having a baby around. We asked him where his baby brother was, and he came over and lifted up my shirt and touched my tummy. He looked at me weird when I told him he wasn't in there any more that he was sitting on Daddy's lap. Pretty funny to see his reaction.

We're getting a routine down for the most part, and Derek's bath time is sometimes shared with Deron in the sink. Derek chose to show you how he felt about it as you can see in the photo above.
We had our two week check up for Deron and amazingly enough he has already put on 13 oz. He is making up for his small birth weight pretty fast! We had a "pork chop" now we have "chunk style". (As in chunky peanut butter)Well we have a busy week ahead of us as Derek is now sick with the swine flu, and Bryson is back at work. I am doing my best to keep everyone/everything as clean as I can and keep it from spreading as much as possible. Wish us luck!
