Look Who Turned 2 !
Well it ended up being a week long of celebrating Derek's 2nd Birthday. It started on Halloween going to the Phoenix Zoo, and then on his actual Birthday we went to Chucky Cheese with Grandpa Val and Grandma Narlene. It was so fun to see Derek so excited about all the different games and different things to do. Derek discovered his hidden talent of being awesome at winning tickets. We let him put the coin in the machine and push the button and on his first try he hit the jackpot of 50 tickets. His little face lit up and he stood there holding the ever growing line of tickets. We had so much fun celebrating his big day.
For the second part of his Birthday we had to wait until the following weekend so that Grandma and Grandpa Reece could come along with Jared and his family. We enjoyed a nice early Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday with both sides of family in town and then following dinner we celebrated with cake and ice cream. (Thanks again for all of the great and fun gifts for Derek)
Along with Derek's Birthday celebration we had Deron's baby blessing on Sunday. I wasn't able to snap a picture of Deron in his blessing outfit because the morning was so crazy, and barley making it to the blessing on time was my biggest priority of all, so the picture never happened. But the blessing was wonderful and I am so grateful for Bryson and the blessings he's given our children. We were so grateful that Grandpa Reece was able to make it to be a part of the prayer circle. Grandma Reece and Grandma Narlene jotted down notes from the blessing for me so we will be able to look back on them for years to come.
We were so lucky to have the family in town that we did for both of our little guys, even if it was just for a weekend. I must say though with the Holiday Season beginning with Thanksgiving and Christmas it really makes you miss the small things of having family closer and being able to enjoy the time together. Thanks again to my mom for putting together that yummy Thanksgiving dinner for all of us. I love you and wish it was me that was setting up your Christmas tree :)
