Our Birthday Boy!
Derek and I started right when we woke up. We got all the decorations strung, and he was such a good helper to run all my errands with me. He thought the best part was the riding in the car full of balloons. We had our few jealous moments, when he realized it was all for the babies birthday. Instead of letting him be grumpy I made a big deal about him being, "The Big Brother" so I let him pick his own balloon out of the batch and we wrote BIG BROTHER on it. Well needless to say for a week now he's kept the deflated balloon tied to his chair and loves it, every time he sees it.
We had such a great party. Papa Val and Dawn's family made for a great crowd to enjoy the night with. Deron was beyond spoiled and Derek even got a handfull of things just for him too.
Deron loved all of his presents, and as he stopped to play with each one as he opened them, Derek was sure to keep going on and opening gifts to help him out.
I have created OCD children, that panic whenever they get any kind of mess on themselves. So Deron wasn't too into his little cake, but he had fun for a little bit with it. The clock was just short of 7:30 when the baby was rubbing his eyes and ready for his bed.
So as everyone left we were sure to have papa val snap a quick picture of us and our survival of yet another one year party.
Happy Birthday to our not so little guy anymore. We love you so much!!
