18 Month Check Up!!

I can hardly believe that our "little Pork Chop" is 18 months! The time certainly does go by fast without a doubt. The doctor visit went fairly smooth, with just a few minor crying moments when Derek was uncomfortable; but he's a trooper and made it to the end.

Often times people ask us how old Derek is because he looks older than he really is, we've never really thought anything of it until we noticed how big he was compared to other kids that are just a few months older than him. Derek just looks like a solid little guy. We call him our "little body builder". Well after today's visit we were able to see the truth about how big our little man really is. It's not just a factor of our imagination, he is really bigger than other kids his age.

His height is in the 95% (34.5 ")
His weight is in the 79% (28.2 lbs.)
His hc is 57% (48 cm)

This explains a lot, the kid can pack away more food than you can even imagine and then be hungry again just an hour later. We've been lucky that he's not a picky eater, and surprisingly enjoys eating his veggies & fruit. (I don't know where he gets that one from! ICK!)

So it's not our imagination, he is big! Perhaps he will be a body guard. But we know for sure with his big hands he will be playing sports!

With Daddy right there to hold his hand and comfort him the big little guy was happy to be done with the shots! He didn't hesitate to show the doctor that he knew just where everything was... ears, nose, head...... So silly.

We are truly blessed to have a healthy, and happy toddler. We love him so much and are so grateful everyday for what he brings to our home.
